Recipe: grilled green asparagus
The asparagus season is gourmet time! We’ll tell you how you can prepare the delicious spring vegetables on the grill. That is twice as much fun in summer!
Ingredients (for 4 servings)
- 20 green asparagus spears
- 200 g herb butter
- 1 pinch of sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
Wash the green asparagus and peel a little if necessary.
Cut out suitable squares for the asparagus from the aluminium foil and place 5 sticks per asparagus packet on the foil.
Place 50 g of firm herb butter in each packet and pour a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar on top. Tip for something sweet: If you take a little more sugar, it will caramelize on the grill and lightly coat the asparagus.
Now it’s time to grill: let each packet cook on the wire rack for 10 to 15 minutes.

Tip : Instead of the herb butter, you can also add simple olive oil with a splash of fresh lemon to the aluminium packet. Seasoned with salt and black pepper, the asparagus tastes delicious naturally.
Green asparagus also tastes good
Grilled asparagus goes particularly well with juicy prawns. But classic BBQ items such as a delicious piece of turkey also go well with green asparagus. By the way, potatoes always taste good with the green vegetables!
You can also try the recipe with white asparagus, but the green one is more suitable for the grill, as the sticks are usually thinner and more flavorful.
