Grilled sweet potatoes: an enrichment for every barbecue evening! Not only vegetable fans will enjoy our recipes for vegetarian grilling.

The baked sweet potato

  • Sweet potatoes
  • Aluminum foil
  • Grated cheese or herb curd


1 If you want to feast on the whole potato as a baked potato, you can rinse it thoroughly and wrap it in aluminium foil. Place the potato packet in the embers of your grill for about 30 minutes using grill tongs .

2 You can then enjoy the potato as an accompaniment to grilled meat , or fill it with herb quark or cheese. To do this, cut the potato lengthways, fill the potato with some grated cheese – for example Cheddar or Gouda – and mix the soft inside of the potato with the cheese.

3 You can then wrap the aluminium foil around the tuber again so that the cheese can melt and the potatoes can cool down a little.

Sweet potato wedges

  • 3 sweet potatoes
  • 60ml sunflower oil
  • two cloves of garlic
  • salt
  • pepper


1 With grilled sweet potato wedges you get that real barbecue feeling. To do this, wash the potatoes thoroughly, pat them dry and cut them into rough corners.

2 Then press the garlic cloves into the oil and drizzle it over the potato wedges. When the oil is evenly distributed, the corners are marinated with salt and pepper.

3 Let the oil drain off a little before placing the corners directly on the grill or in a grill tray .
